A carcanet of sun rays about your throat;

the last scion of your once great House.

The forest is dark and the waters troubled,

but you have a fate to embrace, godsblessed.

May the moon lanterns guide your way in the end, hunter,

and may our threads cross again.

Summary

Two Moons is a high fantasy WIP set in an original, nuanced world. In it, you play as a monster hunter cursed blessed by one of the realm's divine on the hunt for a way to save your life.

The story is LGBTQIA+ friendly, including acespec and arospec main and supporting characters. Any willful disregard for a character's sexuality or romantic orientation will not be tolerated.
Content Rating: 18+ for graphic violence, depictions of blood and gore, death, explicit language, sexual themes (non explicit), drug and alcohol use, possible references and mentions of suicide and other mental health struggles, mentions and references to childhood trauma, and other mature themes.

Cast

Platonic or romantic relationships can be pursued with all six of the main cast. Romance is not necessary to progress the story.

The Hunter | Asahi Asano (he/him)

Cisgender M | Demiromantic demisexual
As a hunter, Asahi has advanced physical abilities similar to the main character, and —according to Asano traditions— is almost completely covered in tattoos. Your threads have crossed several times, but not for several years.
6'2", tan skin, short wavy black hair, hazel eyes, solid, muscular build

The Archer | Makai Heveths'vir (he/they)

Transgender M | Alloromantic pansexual
Agility, speed, and strength are gifts of all elven and half-elven children, but Makai's powerful connection to water magic has always set him
apart as one among thousands, even as a child. Your threads have never crossed before.
5’11", golden brown skin, shoulder length curly black hair, brown eyes, a thickset stocky build with visible muscle tone

The Acolyte | Yezda Sunchild (they/them)

Nonbinary | Alloromantic demisexual
An excellent herbalist, Yezda's healing gifts and soft touch come from years in a temple. Their thread meets the main characters on a cold night and now a life is owed. This is the first time your threads have crossed.
5'5", dark umber skin, shoulder-length, curly, dark brown hair often kept braided out of their face, green eyes, chubby build

The Marked | Wren (she/her)

Cisgender F | Panromantic asexual
Wren's dark past is shrouded in mystery, but her talent for destructive magic and disrupting noble parties has gained her a reputation. Her spine is also marked with a god's mark, the black lines unmarred despite the hundreds of scars she bears. Your threads have never crossed.
5'7", pale skin, white-blond hair chopped at shoulder length, dark grey eyes, slim build

The Ex-Princess | Eshe Negasi (she/her)

Transgender F | Demiromantic pansexual
A charismatic leader with an intensity that never wavers, Eshe's crew follows her out of admiration and loyalty built on years of trust. She's intelligent and well-read from a childhood surrounded by royal tutors, and her reputation as a fearsome swordswoman has been well-earned over the last several years. Your threads have never crossed.
6’0", deep ebony skin, long, dark red box braids, dark brown eyes, a solid athletic build

The Mercenary | Virāja (they/he/she)

Genderfluid | Alloromantic greysexual
A person of few words, Virāja's ability in combat is fearsome when paired with his physical skills and command of magic. Their reputation for severing threads without faltering gives most who cross paths with her pause. Your threads have crossed once.
5’10", light brown skin, dark brown hair kept short, deep blue eyes, slim to average build

Enjoyed this a lot!  Excited for more!

(1 edit)

There's a bit of an error after choosing your weapon. If you choose staff, the next page will say "they set the hilt of your sword in your waiting hand." This happens whether you choose to trust Yezda or not. However, if you chose not to trust Yezda, the following line will say "as you secure your staff," so it seems that it's properly logging your choice, and it's just that one line that doesn't update.

Later on, when fighting the third warrik outside "the ruins of your old city," it'll say "your grip on your bow steadies" after choosing to "lunge beneath it" or "stand your ground." In addition, if you choose to stand your ground, it'll also say "you throw your body behind your blade" and "you wrench your blade clear."

There are quite a few errors regarding scripting apparently, choosing to go to the forsaken village seems to work, until a few pages after when it mentions Asahi leaning against a cave wall, even though a barely standing cottage was the refuge of choice there.

Speaking of forsaken village, that one also has a mention of you wielding a bow during the fight, regardless of the weapon you chose.

Sorry for the late response, but these script issues should all be fixed now. Thank you for giving my book a chance!

That's fine! I know making games takes time and I'm just excited to see new IFs coming out regardless.

🥰

cant seem to get past the stage where you can get help with your bandages :( gives me this popup and i cant progress onwards no matter what i click. otherwise ive been enjoying everything so far!! keep up the good work

(+2)

That should be fixed! Let me know if the issue persists

The new update seems to have a lot of choices that don't link properly. Its hard to categorize all of them, but the most notable one I found is that if I select "I dont drink" I still accept the drink. It also made me select my height twice, probably one of the links doubled back onto a previous passage from a different route or smth? There's also a lot of broken if statements, like if I ask Yezda to help me with bandages there's like 2 broken on the same page. A few others that I forgot where they are, but basically the code needs to be looked back over pretty carefully.

But, the chapter was quite enjoyable and I'm excited to see it cleaned up and read the rest of the story as it continues.

(+1)

I combed through those passages and believe all of those should be fixed. Thank you for letting me know. I hope you enjoy reading the rest!

hi!! this look good but when i choose my gender as male, the next screen says that i chose woman?

(+1)

That is actually a cycling variable. As you click it should give you three different options. Whichever option you leave as you continue onto the next page will be locked in.

Let me know if you have any other trouble!

OHHH SORRY

It's great so far! But one thing I noticed is when the group gets to cave and Asahi is offering to help MC remove their armor/bunching up the bottoms, it doesn't let me get past that point no matter which option I choose. Just wanted to let you know just in case.

Again, the update was great!

Thank you for letting me know! That should be fixed.

I don't know if you're going to update this, but what I read is good. I like the premise of the story, and can't wait to read what happens next. I did not want what we gotten to stop.

Thanks for reading! The full first chapter is available on my Patreon. As I publish more chapters I will most likely be updating this demo to include the full first chapter, however that will not be for some time.

nothing shows up 😭

(+1)

It’s been fixed! Sorry about that.

(+2)

Nothing is displayed except a green background.

Everything should be in working order now!
